Police Minister Mchunu condemns killing of 5 community safety patrollers in Soshanguve

JOHANNESBURG - Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has condemned the killing of five community safety patrollers in Soshanguve.
The group was shot and stoned to death during clashes with suspected criminals at the Marry Me informal settlement over the weekend.

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has given officers 72 hours to find the perpetrators.
The police minister said he was saddened by the attack.
His spokesperson Kamogelo Mogotsi said, “These unarmed members of the community were committed against crime and improving the safety of the community. It was remarkable that they stood against crime and it is the right thing to do. We commend the swift action of the police in initiating a manhunt against those responsible.”
