Over the past few years, we have seen a trend of people moving from Joburg to Cape Town.
However, rising costs in Cape Town are drawing attention to Joburg’s property market.
Property expert Gareth Gibson moved from Joburg to Cape Town, lived there for a year, and is now making the move back.
He says he knows quite a few people who are moving out of Cape Town but don't speak about it.

He argues that property rentals are significantly cheaper in Johannesburg, as is the cost of groceries.
He adds that traffic in Cape Town has become unbearable because of the influx of people.
