JOHANNESBURG - Some Soshanguve residents, north of Pretoria, will contend with power supply interruptions on Friday due to faulty cables at their substation.
For two weeks now, parts of Soshanguve have experienced irregular and prolonged outages.
The City of Tshwane said that while Block BB in the area had full restoration, Block DD remained in the dark.
Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said that teams were working to restore the supply.
"A detailed communication about the planned extensive work that will be carried out to ensure a sustainable and reliable power supply will follow. This work will be exhaustive as it entails laying new cables to ensure an increased, reliable power supply."
