CAPE TOWN - The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Western Cape has raised concern that no arrests have been made following a mass shooting in Gugulethu over the weekend.
Four men were shot and killed on Friday night, in what is believed to be a gang-related attack.
The motive for the attack is yet to be determined.
The DA's Thomas Walters says the rise in violent crime in Cape Town and the deadly shootings in Lavender Hill recently is also disturbing.
"The SAPS [South African Police Service} needs to prioritise better crime intelligence, improve their policing, and really focus on targeted interventions to combat gang violence. It's simply not a question of us talking anymore, it needs to happen. The lives of our communities are at stake, and we demand swift and decisive action."
