SASSA confirms grant payment dates for May 2025

Payments are scheduled to begin in the second week of May.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed its grant payment dates for May 2025. 

Payments are scheduled to begin in the second week of May:

  • Older Persons Grant – Tuesday, 6 May 2025
  • Disability Grant – Wednesday, 7 May 2025
  • Children’s Grants – Tuesday, 8 May 2025

Social grants saw a slight increase in April, as announced by the Minister of Finance Enoch Godongwana.

SASSA grant recipients with gold cards are reminded to switch to the Postbank black card before 31 May.

After May, the gold cards will be blocked, preventing beneficiaries from using them.
