Despite forecasting no rain for Gauteng, SA Weather Service urges residents in low-lying areas to be cautious

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Weather Service (SAWS) said while severe thunderstorms have passed in most parts of Gauteng, residents in low-lying areas should continue to exercise caution.
The province has been contending with rainy weather conditions amid an alert level four for heavy rainfall, with the southern parts of the province battling an orange level four warning for severe thunderstorms.
Forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela said favourable weather conditions could be expected from Friday into the weekend.
"It'll be a partly cloudy day with cool temperatures over most parts of Gauteng with no precipitation expected over most parts of the province."
