Man arrested in Makhaza for possession of hijacked vehicle, unlicensed firearms, and stolen property

CAPE TOWN - Police deployed in Makhaza have arrested a man who was found in possession of a hijacked vehicle, unlicensed firearms, and stolen property.
Officers acted on a tip-off received on Thursday afternoon about a stolen vehicle in Town Two, Khayelitsha.
It’s alleged the suspects were involved in multiple carjacking incidents in the area.
Police spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana said that officers responded quickly and made their way to the two premises in Town Two.
"During the search of the premises, the members recovered a hijacked vehicle, two 9mm firearms, an imitation firearm and suspected stolen property estimated to the value of R30,000. An adult male that was found at the premises was arrested and detained at Lingelethu SAPS."
Manyana said that the suspect would appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court once charges were finalised.
