JOHANNESBURG - Andiswa Mengo's legal team is unhappy with the witness that has provided a conflicting version of events to the Judicial Conduct Tribunal investigating allegations of sexual harassment against Eastern Cape Judge President Selby Mbenenge.
Advocate Nasreen Rajab-Budlender appeared unconvinced about the testimony provided by former Judicial Service Commission secretariat, Kutlwano Moretlwa.
Moretlwa told the tribunal that Mengo, who has accused Mbenenge of sexual harassment, had a copy of the complaint which was allegedly misplaced when she deposed an affidavit in an official complaint against the judge president.
However, Mengo, in January, testified that she was not in possession of the initial complaint she laid and that she did not have her laptop.
Rajab-Budlender described the testmony as concerning.
"Ms Moretlwe, I must tell you that I find your evidence concerning and that I will argue that your version should not be accepted, particularly as it relates to Ms Mengo in due course. Do you want to respond to that?"
"I have no comment," Moretlwa said.
