JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Health Department has rubbished claims that patient care has been compromised at the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital in Johannesburg, due to water issues.
Multiple reports have been circulating in the media claiming patients have been left without food and hot water at the facility.
The department said there had been challenges at the hospital, but they had implemented measures to control the situation.
Health Department spokesperson Motalatale Modiba assured that they were proactive in solving the problems affecting the hospital.
"The hospital management had proactively ensured that there are contingency measures in place in terms of in-house cooking to ensure that all patients continue to receive their meals a day."
