Woodlands community calls for justice after teen allegedly pranked into drinking acid
The 17-year-old boy, who is a casual worker at Mitchell's Butchery in Woodlands, allegedly drank drain acid from a cooldrink bottle found in a fridge at the establishment on Sunday afternoon.

CAPE TOWN - Woodlands residents want justice for a 17-year-old boy who was allegedly pranked into drinking acid at a butchery in Mitchells Plain.
The teenager is in hospital after suffering damage to his stomach and oesophagus.
Police said no arrests have been made, but a case of attempted murder is being investigated.
The 17-year-old boy, who is a casual worker at Mitchell's Butchery in Woodlands, allegedly drank drain acid from a cold drink bottle found in a fridge at the establishment on Sunday afternoon.
Woodlands community leader, Shahiem van Nelson, said an angry mob of residents wanted to torch the butchery.
"People wanted to burn this place down, and the community stood together and said, you know, the building did nothing... Absolutely nothing to nobody...."
Woodlands resident Raafiqah Ganger said the community is calling for accountability.
"All we want is just the truth. All we want is justice for this young man."
The owners of the butchery have elected not to comment while the police investigation is underway.
