JOHANNESBURG - Traffic has been disrupted in parts of Soweto on Monday morning due to a service delivery protest by some Diepkloof hostel residents.
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) says the busy Diepkloof Interchange has been severely affected.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla has urged motorists to use alternative routes.
"The following roads are closed off: that's the N12 and N1 in both directions at the Diepkloof Interchange, and dangerous driving conditions persist near the Diepkloof Interchange as vehicles are making u-turns are travelling against the flow of traffic."
Moreover, JMPD officers say they are attending to a truck that was allegedly looted near the Diepkloof hostel.
