Listen below:
Vicky Sampson’s song Afrikan Dream has been performed at many pivotal moments in our country’s history.
The use of the song at the 1996 African Cup of Nations (which we won), firmly cemented Sampson as one of our music icons.
Throughout her career, she has released several albums and singles, earning numerous accolades for her contributions to the industry.
However, it is not only her music that makes her renowned, she is also known for her philanthropic work and has used her platform to uplift marginalised communities.
This August she will celebrate her 60th birthday, and despite all she has achieved she still feels the best is yet to come.
“I am just giving God so much thanks and glory because I really feel God has saved the best for last for me in my life.”
- Vicky Sampson, singer
As for what comes next for her, she is planning to create a show to tell the story of her life.
