JOHANNESBURG - Emergency services in the Johannesburg metro are cautioning residents when using heating devices as a cold front makes landfall across the province.
The national forecaster issued alerts for extremely cold temperatures, likely to be accompanied by strong winds and scattered showers.
Spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said the city's disaster management teams are on high alert for any emergencies.
“Exercise caution when using heating devices. Things like heaters, imbawula, paraffin stoves, [do] not to leave them unattended while in use so that we can be able to prevent fire incidents which might occur at home during these extremely cold temperatures.”
