DURBAN - The school governing body (SGB) at the Bizimali High School in KwaZulu-Natal where six learners were allegedly raped is calling for assistance to improve security in the community.
Six learners from the school were allegedly raped in the deep rural area of Hloshane in Nkandla.
The man accused of the crimes was re-arrested by members of the public order police in Durban on Thursday morning after he escaped from custody on Monday.
The school governing body said the incidents called for the community to ensure tight security for learners.

SGB chairperson Mdueni Mathonsi said: "This situation is very hard, I am so angry, and I feel for these school learners. We camp here every night to accompany them into their student accommodations."
He added that they, however, needed working tools for the safety of their learners.
"I’d like to ask authorities to at least help us with torches because we use cell phones and it’s not helping, and reflectors would also be appreciated so we are visible."
