CAPE TOWN - One person has been killed and six others injured in an alleged gang-related shootout in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town.
The shooting took place on Friday night and is believed to involve rival gangs from the area.
Ward Councillor Angus Mckenzie has condemned the violence and is calling for those responsible to be brought to justice.
"It is very clear to me that the gangsters in Bonteheuwel are absolute cowards. They hide when we patrol, they hide when there's police visibility, and they take opportunities when patrollers are not visible."
Mckenzie added that the community rejects these actions entirely.
EWN has reached out to police on this incident and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
