Joburg EMS reiterates call to use heating devices responsibly amid cold front

JOHANNESBURG - The City of Johannesburg's Emergency Management Services (EMS) has continued to urge residents to use all heating devices responsibly to avoid any fire incidents, as weather conditions are expected to drop.
EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said that they were on high alert for any incidents.
Mulaudzi said so far, no major incidents had been reported.
"Residents are urged to look after all heating devices, things like heaters, brazers, paraffin stoves, not to leave them unattended while in use, so that we can prevent fire incidents which might occur during these cold temperatures."
Meanwhile, forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela said more showers were expected in most parts of Gauteng.
