JOHANNESBURG - The defence in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is expected to address photographic evidence against some of the accused, which seemingly links their visual appearance to the description given by witnesses.
On Tuesday Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng granted the state its application to recall two witnesses to testify on the photographs.
The court is now dealing with the pictures of the alleged intruder, Bongani Ntanzi.
Ntanzi is one of five men accused of the Bafana Bafana captain’s 2014 murder.
The state used photographs of Ntanzi in an attempt to prove that he had an O shaped beard at some point, and that he wore his beard in this way from time to time.
This is in response to his lawyer Sipho Ramosepele’s claim that Ntanzi can't be the intruder who was described by witnesses because he never had a round beard, and could not even grow in that shape.
State Advocate Ronnie Sibanda also shone the spotlight on Ntanzi’s apparent like for hoodies, an item of clothing that witnesses also claim the intruder wore.
Sibanda asked state witness Warrant Officer Lawrence Ndlovu, who downloaded pictures from Ntanzi’s phone to describe what he was wearing.
'Thee defence will cross-examine Ndlovu on Wednesday.
