On Friday, President Cyril Ramaphosa and other top government officials visited the Decolingy area in Mthatha, which was one of the hardest-hit areas.

He addressed more than 100 displaced residents at the Sinolwazi Senior Secondary School, west of Mthatha.

Many of those in attendance lost all their belongings, including their homes.

It's still unclear how many people are still missing.
