CAPE TOWN - An intense cold front is expected to hit the Western Cape and Northern Cape on Wednesday.
Residents are being urged to be extra careful in the inclement weather.
Wednesday's cold front is expected to bring cold, wet and windy conditions.
Warnings for rough seas, gale-force winds and heavy rain that may lead to flooding are among those issued by the weather office.
South African Weather Service forecaster, Lehlohonolo Thobela: "Cold to very cold conditions can be expected along with possible snowfall over the western mountain ranges of the Western Cape spreading into the south-western interior of the Northern Cape."
Meanwhile, the City of Cape Town's disaster risk management teams will be on high alert.
They're pleading with residents to take heed of the warnings and do as much as possible to safeguard their properties, like waterproofing, clearing gutters and digging trenches to lead water away from their structures.
