DURBAN - ActionSA in KwaZulu-Natal said the man arrested for disrupting the party’s event in Durban did so intentionally, linking him to similar previous incidents.

Last week, the party’s Ward 25 launch at the Kennedy Road informal settlement was disturbed after a gunman opened fire on party supporters.

Sanele Dlanini has appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court for the incident and remains in custody.

The party said this was not the first time he threatened their members.

"The guy has no tolerance for other political parties in that area," said party KZN leader Zwakele Mncwango.

He said party supporters who experienced the incident suffered trauma.

"Many of our members, as I am speaking to you today, our members are attending counselling because of the trauma they went through after the shots were fired."
