JOHANNESBURG - Cultural anthropologist and researcher Sipho Sithole said that the downfall of hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs was a massive setback for the music industry.

The latest commentary comes as a jury continues to deliberate over the most serious charge the muso faces in his high-profile trial.

The trial lasted over a month and featured nearly three dozen witnesses across 29 days of testimony.

At the federal court in New York on Tuesday, 12 jurors agreed on four of the five counts where he’s accused of sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution.

Those verdicts have not been made public but jurors were unable to decide on the racketeering charge, which carries a possible life prison term.

Sithole said that the odds were stacked against Diddy.

"I don’t think he’s going to walk. I can’t see him walking on all of them, definitely not. The first one is very serious, and I think that’s why it’s been an issue, and you heard about juror 25 that has not been following the rules, and I really think they are hung up on this one."
