JOHANNESBURG - Some residents in different parts of Johannesburg may have to wait a little longer before they can have water coming out of their taps.
Johannesburg Water said that although work on the Zwartkopjes system were completed on Wednesday night, due to technical challenges, the pumping capacity was reduced.
Several areas in the metro have little to no water.
This comes after the 48-hour shutdown of water due to maintenance works, which were conducted by Rand Water earlier this week.
Joburg Water said the areas supplied by the Yeoville Reservoir, Forest Hill tower, Parktown 2 reservoirs, Hector Norris pump station, and many other stations in the south and inner city were affected.
The utility added that they would continue to supply the areas with alternative sources of water.
They added that repairs were expected to be completed during the day.
