Aserie Ndlovu, Zodwa Mdhuli kidnapping & murder case referred to high court for trial

JOHANNESBURG - The case of five men charged with the kidnapping and murder of journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner Zodwa Mdhluli has been referred to the high court for trial.
The matter was moved during proceedings at the KwaMhlanga Magistrates Court in Mpumalanga on Friday.
The national director of public prosecutions, Shamila Batohi, also ordered that the notice be filed to this effect.
The couple went missing in February, and their remains were found near the Limpopo border in May.

The fifth-accused in the matter, Isaac Hlophe, has abandoned his bail, like his co-accused.
The second accused in the matter, Sello Uoane, did not join his co-accused in the dock on Friday due to miscommunication.
The matter has been postponed to 8 August for further investigation, including new additional statements and postmortem reports to be prepared as part of the evidence.
All five men will remain behind bars.
