JOHANNESBURG - The families of missing journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli, can finally move forward with burial plans following the positive identification of skeletal remains discovered on the border of Limpopo and Gauteng in May.
 
After extensive tests and analysis, police have positively linked the remains to the missing couple.
 
Ndlovu and Mdhluli vanished in February this year.
 
One of the suspects led police to the area where the remains were found.

It's been a lengthy, trying journey for the families of the murdered couple who have been seeking closure following the disappearance of their loved ones.
 
Police spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe, said that positive DNA matched with the reference sample of the biological relatives.
 
"The SAPS has already notified both families and is pleased to have assisted to provide closure to both families."
 
Police have made eight arrests in this matter and the accused face various charges including murder, kidnapping and possession of stolen property.
 
They have appeared before the KwaMhlanga Magistrates Court in Mpumalanga.
 
Police continue to search for more suspects in connection with the crimes.
