CAPE TOWN - Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a newborn baby in a black bin in Brooklyn, Cape Town.
The remains of the baby girl were found on Saturday.
She was declared deceased by paramedics after members attached to the Maitland flying squad were called to the scene.
Police spokesperson F.C. Van Wyk said that no arrests have been made.
“The motive is believed to be concealment of birth. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.”
