Mpumalanga police arrest suspect for 2024 murder of Dr Nondumiso Sibanyoni

JOHANNESBURG - Police in Mpumalanga have finally made a breakthrough in the investigation into the murder of medical Doctor Nondumiso Sibanyoni, who was shot outside a gym in Mbombela in November last year.
Sibanyoni was 34 at the time of the murder.
She had just arrived at the gym when an assailant jumped out of a car and shot at her three times.
A 39-year-old suspect was arrested on Tuesday.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli said that the motive for the murder remains unknown.
"The suspect is expected to appear at the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on Thursday, 10 July 2025, on a charge of murder. At the time of the incident promised that the investigation team will leave no stone unturned to get those responsible behind bars, and we have delivered. However, we are still in pursuit of others that were involved in this senseless murder."
