3 men arrested in Central Karoo for possession of copper cables

CAPE TOWN - Police in the Central Karoo arrested three men for the possession of copper cables, ammunition and R5 magazines.
Members attached to the district crime combat team searched a premises in Nkosi Street in Beaufort-West.
They found one 9mm round of ammunition and two R5 magazines and arrested one suspect.
On the same day, members caught two Lesotho nationals trying to steal infrastructure at the Weltevrede railway site in Leeu-Gamka.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie said that the first suspect would appear in the Beaufort-West Magistrates Court once charged.
"The members confiscated seven rolls of copper cable, two cellular telephones, tools and arrested the 45- and 35-year-old suspects who are scheduled to appear in the Leeu-Gamka Magistrates Court today."
