JOHANNESBURG - FlySafair said it was committed to finding a resolution to the demands of striking pilots to avoid further financial loss.

The company said it was still calculating the cost of the strike after the airline cancelled 30% of flights on Monday and reduced flight schedules for the rest of the week.

The contentious points are wage increases, rest time, and leave benefits, with the company offering 5% while the pilots' union, Solidarity, wants 10%.

The two parties will be meeting at the CCMA on Wednesday to find a resolution to the two-week-long strike planned by the union.

"We have not totalled the number of losses from yesterday and obviously, the financial losses are concerning but they are not our major focus. Our key disappointment is having disappointed those customers who we were not able to operate flights for."
