JOHANNESBURG - A group of mothers from Fleurhof and surrounding areas were outside the Roodepoort Magistrates Court, calling for the murder accused, Tiffany Nicole Meek, not to be granted bail.

Friday was the fifth day of the bail application for the mother who is linked to the death of her 11-year-old son, Jayden-Lee Meek.

Tiffany was arrested two months after her son’s bruised body was discovered by a resident in the Fleurhof complex in May.

A group of women stood with placards in their hands, calling for justice for the slain 11-year-old child.

In drizzling conditions, the mothers said they felt betrayed by the murder-accused mother whom they comforted in her time of grief.

Tiffany was arrested earlier in July.

Pertunia Chauke was one of the women who took part in the demonstration.

“We are deeply hurt by this as that day she was crying a lot whilst knowing what she did to her child. We thought this might have been done by a thief or someone else.”
