CAPE TOWN - Julius Malema says KwaZulu-Natal provincial police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s claims of police corruption must be backed by evidence.
Malema said he will be part of Parliament’s ad hoc committee that will investigate the allegations of corruption and interference, and expects Mkhwanazi to furnish it and the judicial commission with the evidence.

“We want the truth to come out. What Mkhwanazi said must be repeated, backed by evidence in the ad hoc committee and in the commission of inquiry. It is now no longer an issue of just talking.”
Malema also hailed Mkhwanazi as a hero for exposing corruption and called for his contract to be renewed.
“Mkhwanazi’s contract is coming to an end in December. If anything, they must advertise that post now and the he must reapply and get reappointed again.”
