JOHANNESBURG - There’s excitement in the air as thousands of 702 listeners walk the streets of Tshwane for the 702 Walk the Talk.
The walks in 2025 feature the 4km, 6.7km, and 8km distances – all starting at the iconic Freedom Park Heritage Site, with the finish line located at the Union Buildings.
The whistle for the first walk was blown at 9 o’clock on Sunday morning.
It’s a big day in the City of Tshwane as thousands head to the Freedom Park Heritage Site.
The walk will go past several heritage landmarks in the capital.
Participants have explained what they’re walking for:
“We are walking against GBV, that’s something we need to bring awareness to. A lot is just happening,” said a participant.
“We are walking against gender-based violence because it’s common for everyone, either men, women – everyone is experiencing it,” echoed another.
Participants will enjoy live performances from their favourite artists at the finish line.
