CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police have opened three murder cases and one of attempted murder after a deadly shooting in Philippi East
In the early hours of Saturday morning, two men and a woman, aged between 19 and 20, were shot and killed.
A fourth victim, a 26-year-old woman, was reportedly shot in the arms and taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Police spokesperson, André Traut, said that the motive for the attack is still under investigation, and the suspects remain at large.
"Preliminary reports indicate that two unknown suspects approached a residence in Hankomo Street, lower crossroads, Philippi East, identified themselves as police officers, and claimed to be looking for something. The suspects then opened fire on the occupants of the house.”
