JOHANNESBURG - The Patriotic Alliance (PA) has chosen its newest member, Liam Jacobs, as its mayoral candidate for Tshwane.
Jacobs recently joined the PA in June after leaving the Democratic Alliance, where he was a member of Parliament.
Liam Chad Jacobs was born 24 years ago in Kimberley, in the Northern Cape.
His first political foray came when he was studying at the University of Pretoria, where he was a member of the DA's youth wing, DASO.
Jacobs later went on to lead DASO before being promoted straight to Parliament.
In Parliament, Jacobs gained fame for his blunt, sometimes abrasive style of questioning officials appearing before the committees he served on.
With less than a year as a DA MP, Jacobs resigned and joined the Patriotic Alliance, saying that he was finally free.
On his TikTok, Jacobs has been hitting the streets of Pretoria, interacting with residents as he campaigns to lead the country’s capital city.
