JOHANNESBURG - Four lanes have been closed on the N12 West in Alberton after a drive-by shooting on Wednesday afternoon.
Police and the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department are investigating the matter.
Motorists going to Alberton have been urged to use the on-ramp to Michelle Street on the N12 or use City Deep Road and the on-ramp on Majuba.
EMPD’s Millicent Kekana said this has caused disruptions from the N3 South and the R24, and the N12 West before the Edenvale on-ramp.
"Do take note of an incident causing heavy traffic delays on the N12 West just before the Redding Interchange off-ramp. The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department and South African Police Service (SAPS) are on scene."
Motorists were advised to use alternative routes.
