CAPE TOWN – The City of Cape Town’s Metro Police have confiscated Mandrax tablets worth R180,000 in Ravensmead.

Officers received information about drugs and firearms being transported in two separate vehicles on Wednesday night.

Upon searching the vehicle, members found 6,000 mandrax tablets and arrested two women and three men aged between 24 and 32 years.

Another drug-related arrest was made in Manenberg.

Metro Police spokesperson Ruth Solomons said cocaine worth R6,000 was confiscated.

“The suspect was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for disregarding a stop sign. He tried to run away during the traffic stop and disposed of the contraband, but officers recovered the two bags containing 120 packets of cocaine.”
