EB Inglis pays tribute to teens lost in car crash: 'The Brackenfell accident rocked me.'

A devastating car accident in Brackenfell has left four young adults dead and two others fighting for their lives after their vehicle crashed into a tree and erupted into flames on Cecil Morgan Drive in Brackenfell on Saturday, 2 August, just after 6pm.

Four of the six teenagers who were in the car at the time were declared dead on the scene. The youngest victim was 15-year-old Adrian Le Roux.  

Fairmont High School has confirmed the death of grade 12 pupils Perth Eksteen and Daniel Jansen van Rensburg.

Sixteen-year-old Kiara Daniels was also a victim of the crash.

Tributes and condolences have been circulating from community members, who are sending messages of strength to the mourning families.  

EB recalls first hearing of the news from his wife, then on Facebook, and again in the news on the radio and explains why this hit close to home...
