CAPE TOWN - the Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, said there’s been “overwhelming interest” in the National Dialogue with more than 700 organisations registering to participate in the initiative.

Ntshavheni told a post-Cabinet briefing on Thursday that Cabinet, at its last meeting, considered a report on the progress made towards the convening of the first of the two conventions of the National Dialogue that will take place over three days, from the 15th to the 17th of August in Pretoria.

Ntshavheni said the first-ever convention is aimed at “mobilising consensus” on the focus areas for the National Dialogue that is planned to include South Africans from all walks of life.

"The initiative has already seen an overwhelming interest, with 737 organisations from more than 30 sectors registering to participate, reflecting the strong desire among South Africans to shape their shared future."
