JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Correctional Services has filed an intention to appeal a judgment which resulted in changes to the imprisonment of one of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.
In July, the Pretoria High Court handed down an order for Fisokuhle Ntuli to be moved from the Kgosi Mampuru prison to the Leeuwkop facility.
Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng made the call after Ntuli complained about the conditions of his imprisonment, claiming that he was irregularly moved to a section with tighter security.
Correctional services has now asked the court for the reasons for the order.
