DURBAN - The trial in the murder case of rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and businessman Tebello Motsoane has been set down for July next year.

The matter returned to the Durban High Court for a further pre-trial conference, with the defence demanding outstanding witness statements from the State.

Five men are accused of conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of murder, as well as firearms and ammunition-related charges linked to the killing of the pair.

Forbes and Motsoane were shot and killed in Durban’s popular Florida Road in February 2023.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA)'s spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson Kara said, "The case was postponed to 19 June 2026, to allow for the parties to address further pre-trial issues and for the appointment of a trial judge. The trial dates are 20 July to 21 August 2026 and 05 October to 06 November 2026.”
