Criminal behavior in public transport industry won't be tolerated: Minister Creecy

JOHANNEBSURG - Transport Minister Barbara Creecy has said criminal behaviour in the public transport industry will not be tolerated.
Her comments come after an e-hailing driver was shot and killed by a group of assailants who later torched two e-hailers' vehicles in Soweto on Wednesday night.
Gauteng police said that they suspect the incident is related to taxi violence.

The national Department of Transport spokesperson, Collen Msibi, said the minister and her deputy minister, Mkhuleko Hlengwa, have condemned such violent acts.
"They also expressed their message of condolences to the bereaved family who lost their loved one. [They] further indicated that such criminal behaviour has no place in the public transport sector, and that those responsible must face the full might of the law," he said.
