CAPE TOWN - Mitchells Plain police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident that took place in Eastridge on Thursday morning.

A 37-year-old man was shot in Buffalo Street and declared dead on the scene.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said the incident occurred just after 7 AM.

"The motive for the attack is believed to be gang-related. The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested. Mitchells Plain detectives are investigating a murder case."
