Detectives were on duty on Friday when they noticed a female leaving a vehicle with a bag and moving to nearby bushes to allegedly hide it.

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police have arrested three suspects who were found in possession of drugs valued at R82,500.

Members of the Namaqualand K9 Unit and Lutzville detectives were on duty on Friday when they noticed a female leaving a vehicle with a bag and moving to nearby bushes to allegedly hide it.

Officers stopped the car and searched it, where they found a consignment of drugs.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said the suspects will appear in court on Monday. 

“They found 600 mandrax tablets and a plastic packet containing 150 grams of crystal meth in the bag. The estimated value of the drugs is R82,500. Two males aged 31 and 33 and a 45-year-old female were arrested for the possession of drugs,” Twigg added.
