Madlanga Commission: Malema has close ties to Sibiya, reveals Witness A

A Gauteng detective testifying before the Madlanga Commission has alleged that Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, has close ties to suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner, Shadrack Sibiya, and a questionable Sandton businessman with mining interests in the North West.
The witness is testifying partially in-camera before the inquiry on Tuesday.
He is part of the team investigating the murder of Vereeniging engineer, Armand Swart.

During his testimony, Witness “A” described how he was called by the head of Organised Crime in SA, Richard Shibiri, following their arrest of multi-millionaire, Katiso “KT” Molefe in December.
According to witness a, Shibiri, informed him that Molefe was part of a group, who have mining interests in the northwest, including a close associate of Malema.
“He told me that Molefe was part of a group of five individuals with interests in the North West. He also said another guy, whose known as ZE Nxumalo, who stays in Sandton. He said ZE is a close friend of Julius Malema who is a politician, who tends to be close to general [Shadrack] Sibiya.”
