JOHANNESBURG - The family of slain e-hailing driver, Mthokozisi Mvelase, said that they were yet to begin with funeral arrangements as they try to piece together the 27-year-old’s murder.
Mvelase was shot and torched inside his car by four unknown men, near the entrance of Maponya Mall in Soweto last Wednesday, in what is believed to be taxi-related violence.
Another e-hailing driver and a passerby were also wounded during the ordeal.
On Sunday, the Methodist Church held a prayer for the family of the victims at the parking lot of the shopping centre.
Mvelase's aunt, Zanele Khuzwayo, said that they were struggling to come to terms with the gruesome attack.
"This has reopened this fresh wound that has not even started to heal, but we leave everything up to God, as we still don't know how and when we will bury him, as we are waiting for his body to be returned to us."
