Police confirm more than 30 people killed in mass shootings in Cape Town in past two months
The shootings are believed to be either gang, taxi, or extortion related.

CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police have confirmed more than 30 murders across Cape Town in the past two months due to mass shootings.
The shootings are believed to be either gang, taxi, or extortion-related.
Three lives were lost in a gang-related shooting in Wallacedene on the evening of 5 June.
The next morning, four taxi owners were executed at the Mfuleni taxi rank.

Cape Town has been rocked by several mass killings since June, with eight people shot dead at a house in Gugulethu on 28 June.
Five more people were shot dead in Mitchells Plain in gang-related violence on 3 July.
Gang shootings also claimed the lives of four people, including an 80-year-old woman in Bishop Lavis on 4 July.
Then last week, Overcome Heights and Xakabantu informal settlements in Muizenberg were rocked by multiple mass murders, claiming the lives of seven people.
In Philippi East, four people were shot dead in what police believe to be an extortion-related attack on Sunday.
Police said that while they acknowledged the bleak picture painted by these stats, they've made some major breakthroughs related to these murders.
