CAPE TOWN - Seven suspects were arrested in Imizamo Yethu, Hout Bay after a taxi related shooting.
The incident left two victims dead and five injured.
Two firearms were confiscated and will undergo ballistic testing.
MMC for Safety and Security, JP Smith said they will launch Neighbourhood Safety Officers within Metro Police, which will consist of officers dedicated to each ward in the city.
"They are tasked with building strong relationships with Neighbourhood Watches and private security companies, so that we can work together, united in the fight against crime in every ward across the city, to collaborate and support the efforts of the South African Police,” said Smith.
