Minister Ntshavheni on Tshidi Madia: 'She would hold us to account'

JOHANNESBURG - Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has described EWN's politics associate editor, Tshidi Madia, as the number one daughter of South Africa.
Ntshavheni was speaking at Madia's family home in Leondale, on the East Rand, following her passing on Wednesday.
Madia passed away in hospital after a short illness.

Minister Ntshavheni visited the Madia family on Thursday night to convey her condolences to them following Tshidi Madia' passing.
She spoke very fondly of her, saying Madia made it her mission to not only fight for this country, but also to tell its stories responsibly.
In a recent post on X, Madia wrote: "I love South Africa, with its flaws and all."
The minister said that Madia fought for the voice of South Africa.
"She would hold us to account, but she would do it in a manner that is responsible. She was a regime, she was not intimidated by office, she was not intimidated by issues. She would confront them head-on."
She said that government had offered to assist the family with funeral arrangements.
