JOHANNESBURG - SANParks will launch its Vision 2040 conference in Gqeberha this week, focusing on the conservation of South Africa’s biodiversity.
With a strong focus on community involvement, Vision 2040 is aimed at addressing rapid climate change that could affect the country's national parks.
The organisation has outlined key conservation areas where land has been tested to ensure its resilient against climate change.
"In all of these places we have chosen, one of the things we've thought about is how do we make sure there is climate resilience as well. So, these landscapes were not just chosen, but a scientific process went through it,” said SANParks spokesperson JP Louw.
