JOHANNESBURG - The Madlanga Judicial Commission of Inquiry into alleged corruption within police is now set to begin on 17 September.
The annoucement was made on Friday.
The commission, which was initially set to begin this week, was delayed by technical issues related to procurement, a responsibility of the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development.

The commission of inquiry was established by President Cyril Ramaphosa in July, just days after KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, made explosive allegations of corruption and collusion within the criminal justice system.
The Judicial Commission of Inquiry intocriminality, political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system will start 17 September at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College in Pretoria.
Following several delays around procurement processes, the commission noted the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development has awarded several contracts, including IT equipment and ICT infrastructure services.
Last week, Justice Minister Mamoloko Kubayi, said the department initiated a probe into two senior employees, Director General, Adv. Doctor Mashabane, and Deputy Director for ICT, Jabulani Hlatshwayo.
Kubayi suggested the delays in procurement could have been done on purpose and that the internal probe could lead to suspension of both Mashabane and Hlatshwayo if this was found to be true.
