JOHANNESBURG - As a legal battle loom between the sacked SA Tourism board and Minister Patricia de Lille, the former board members said the minister simply got her facts wrong when she decided to fire them.

Last month, de Lille announced the decision to dissolve the board, saying it was prompted by an unlawful meeting in which a resolution was taken.

However, the former board members have denied this and are now taking their bid to challenge their dismissal to court.

While de Lille has taken issue with a resolution taken by the board, former board member Lawson Naidoo said the decision was lawful

"There was a resolution, and the resolution was that the board appointed me as a representative. The minister is quite confused she does not understand the difference between a meeting of the board, a special meeting of the board and a round robbin resolution. You take a round robbin resolution without a meeting," said Naidoo.
